"Inside Jericho" Live Talk Show Live At 1pm

If you like me are a fan of "Jericho" and want more insight in to the show CBS has a live talk show online. The show at CBS.com is similar to the shows they do for "Survivor", "Big Brother" and "The Amazing Race" where people involved with the show take callers questions. Tomorrows show is a good one because they have the charming Ashley Scott along with one of the two executive producers on the show Carol Barbee. >>CBS.com at 10am pt/ 1pm et

Luke Blade is a illusionist on tonights episode and, is visiting New York when two of his crew are found dead in ways that mimic his illusions; Mac and the rest of the "CSI:NY" team investigate the deaths. Criss Angel is basically playing himself which is not really a stretch. If you are a fan of illusionists or Criss Angel then you may want to check this one out. I have only seen a clip of this show but the show like all the versions of "CSI" is generally well written and acted.

"Dice Undisputed" Premieres March 4th On VH1

Andrew Dice Clay the controversial comedian who at one time was banned from MTV for life, is now back from retirement with a new show on VH1. The show is a reality show that documents his struggle to get back to the top and is called "Dice Undisputed." It shows things such as his struggle taking care of two teenage sons while dealing with a broken marriage. You will also get to see his entourage of a rag tag group of middle aged buddies and road crew. The show idea sounds interesting and with Dice there should be some light hearted moments with the drama so it may be worth checking it out. So far VH1 has picked up 7 episodes of "Dice Undisputed" to be shown on Sunday nights.

"The Black Donnellys" Premieres Tonight

The Irish American drama "The Black Donnelly's" premieres tonight at 10pm on NBC. The story concerns four brothers and the relationship between them and judging from what I have seen seems very interesting. The show was written and produced by Bobby Moresco and Paul Haggis the award winning team behind such movies as "Crash" and "Million Dollar Baby." The preview clips on the website look interesting and make the show look more like a show you would see on HBO rather than a broadcast network. If the writing holds up and is as smart and edgy as it looks this could be a real interesting show. >>NBC at 10pm tonight

"Joan And Melissa Live At The Academy Awards"

For many years Joan and Melissa Rivers hosted a pre show on the E channel for the Academy Awards that was very successful. A few years ago they moved the show to the TV Guide channel and this year they are back again. The two of them stand on the red carpet as the Oscar attendees arrive and ask them questions like which designer they are wearing and other hard hitting questions. After everyone has entered the Kodak Theater they discuss what everyone was wearing and make fun of what some of the people where wearing. This show is tacky and superficial but at the same time you end up watching it. Other channels will do this same type of show but this one is the best of this genre and worth watching if you watch one.

You see Jake in San Diego making a living and, Emily's fiance Roger as he heads to to Chicago for a job interview. "Amazing Race All Stars" Debut Review

Sunday at 8pm "Amazing Race All Stars" finally had its debut and it was great to see some some of the contestants from previous editions of the show. The show began in Miami and then they all rushed off to the airport at break neck speed. The best known team Rob and Amber from "Survivor" and "Survivor All Stars" as well as runners up on the "Amazing Race" were back. This is the team that everybody loves to hate because they are a little arrogant and because of there past success in reality shows. Rob said they had a new bag of tricks this time but when they got to the airport he actually stopped a shuttle to let another team on which is very unlike Rob; The last time Rob and Amber were on the "Amazing Race" when a car flipped over Rob keep on driving past without offering help so the fact they helped someone was surprising. All eleven teams raced towards the pit stop with some teams having trouble, Kevin/Drew blew a tire and had to drive on the rim, Vito/Jill got bad directions and Charla/Mirna who had trouble with directions too. The first team to arrive at the pit stop was Rob and Amber which should make them an even bigger target from the other teams than they were before if thats possible. In the end the last team to arrive at the pit stop was Vito/Jill who were shocked to be eliminated. In all a fairly good episode and with teams this competitive i cannot wait until the next episode. >>CBS Sundays at 8pm

REVIEW: "Beach Patrol" On Court TV

"Beach Patrol" is a reality series thats very similar to the long running "Cops" on FOX. Instead of showing police work in this case they show lifeguards from various different departments across America as they do their job. From rescuing people, drinking and drugs, fights, and people just causing trouble. Because it happens at the beach the view is better and, because unlike "Cops" they are not always arresting people the show is more upbeat. Its an interesting show to watch and its amazing how much police type work the lifeguards do even though they are unarmed. If you are in to the reality shows in the vain of "Cops" you will enjoy this show. "Beach Patrol" is shown on "Court TV" and is shown many times through the week and on the weekends it is often shown all day.

Duane Chapman better known as "Dog The Bounty Hunter" on the A and E channel has lost his battle to be extradited to Mexico. He can still appeal the decision which stems from the arrest of convicted rapist and Max Factor heir Andrew Luster in 2003 in Puerto Vallarta. The news surrounding the arrest got him press at the time which lead to him getting the television series. Bill had resigned as the Steeler's coach last month after being in that position for 15 seasons. All the current analysts are remaining which are Dan Marino, Shannon Sharpe, Charlie Casserly and James Brown as host. Keith Olbermann Adds Four More Years

Keith Olbermann who is host of MSNBC's prime time show "Countdown" has signed a new contract for four more years as host. Keith's contract was set to expire this March for a show he has hosted since 2003. "Countdown's" ratings are solid with ratings last month up 85 percent over January 2006. The show over time has become more political with Keith Olbermann criticizing President Bush often in well written commentaries and also attacking Bill O' Reilly his competition on FOX News. Keith Olbermann has become a liberal hero and he needles Bill O' Reilly although O' Reilly's show still has much higher ratings. I enjoy watching Keith Olbermann and "Countdown" its always entertaining although I'm sure some people may be put off by his sarcasm.

SoapNet Sees Jump In Ratings In January

The SoapNet cable channel had a huge ratings jump for its prime time shows in January. The channel saw a 48 percent jump in viewer ship year over year for its prime time same day reruns of ABC soaps as well as some others and some original programming. Over the last few years the viewer ship of all the daytime soap operas has been declining so this channel has been a bright spot.

"American Idol" Now In Hollywood

Tonight on "American Idol" at 8pm on FOX is the first part of the Hollywood stage where all the contestants that got the golden ticket and, made it this far compete against each other. During this time the judges will start to decide who should go and who will make it and be one of the finalists. This actually is my least favorite part of "American Idol" but its still interesting to watch to see which singers self destruct and which ones shine. >>FOX at 8pm tonight

Sunday nights "Grammy Awards" broadcast bounced back in the ratings from last seasons record low ratings. Why "Deal Or No Deal" works

"Deal Or No Deal" garners nice ratings for NBC and its a show that is relatively inexpensive to produce and because it has no continuing story can be repeated in any order. "Deal Or No Deal" works because the premise is simple to understand and unlike shows such as "Jeopardy" or "Wheel Of Fortune" the contestants don't have to answer questions or solve things; this also makes the show easier to watch for everyone. The addition of attractive women opening the cases also doesn't hurt. The main reason the show works is because of Howie Mandel and his ability to build tension and empathize with the contestants as well as being able to dispatch the quick one liners. Howie's ability to interact with everyone and make the show entertaining is why this show is ahead of the normal game show. If NBC doesn't over expose this show they could get good steady ratings for a long time.

Court TV Back On Dish Network

Satellite provider Dish Network has returned Court TV to its former position on channel 204 on the service. Dish Network had yanked the channel off of it service on Jan 1st after contract talks had failed. "Survivor Fiji" Is Finally Here At 8pm

"Survivor" returns tonight at 8pm on CBS and this time they are in Fiji. The long running show has tried to mix things up in recent episodes to keep things fresh. Last season they did that by breaking up the teams by ethnic groups and this season there is a new twist: The castaways start as one tribe and live in comfort but then split in to two tribes one living in luxury and one not. With one tribe living in comfort and one not it will be interesting to see how that will change the game. Will the team thats roughing it want work harder to switch places with the other team or will they become downbeat and weaker.

The show in that time slot now is the struggling "Studio 60" which will return later in the season. The concept for this show sounds interesting but i wonder if this may have worked better on basic cable. Either way I applaud NBC for the risk taking in shows that it has shown this season.

"Amazing Race All Stars" Countdown Is On

The three time Emmy Award winning "Amazing Race" returns to CBS on Sunday February 18th at 8pm. This time its an all star series with some of your favorites from the last 10 seasons of the show. The all star format worked very well for "Survivor" and I can see it working even better for "Amazing Race All Stars." The teams were picked from 7 of the last 10 seasons and the ones picked are a very competitive bunch so this should be very interesting. If you haven't watched before its where teams of two people with a connection such as being relatives, friends, couples or some other connection compete against other teams of two in a race around the world. They follow clues and perform tasks together and try not to be the last team to each pit stop or they could be eliminated. The first team to cross over the finish line wins the competition and wins the prize money. If you haven't seen the show before give it a try its a fun show to watch and see how people act under the stress of the race and to wish your favorite team on. >>CBS Sunday February 18th at 8pm

That leaves Thursday and Friday night which will be "My Movie" nights from 8-10pm showing Hollywood movies. This new schedule kicks off March 8th with "The Rundown" starring the Rock. The idea of My Network Television was to produce inexpensive soap operas which wouldn't need huge ratings to be profitable; This idea struggled as the soaps got lower than expected ratings so this new direction is trying to improve the networks fortunes.

Super Bowl Audience Is Second Biggest Ever

CBS must be happy after yesterdays Super Bowl had the second highest ratings in history for a Super Bowl with an estimated 93.2 million viewers. The rainy game was probably helped by the popularity of Peyton Manning the Colts quarterback and the fact Chicago is a huge television market. Other than a few times where the cameras were covered in rain for a split second the coverage went very well. The announcer team was very good and the halftime show of Prince was one of the best I have ever seen. All in all other than the fact of the rain and a so so game it was a good telecast.

"Rules Of Engagement" Premiere Tonight

Tonight on CBS at 9:30pm a new comedy premieres as part of CBS's hit Monday night comedy line up, the show is called "Rules Of Engagement." Its a comedy about the different phases of male and female relationships. It stars the always funny David Spade as well as Patrick Warburton and Oliver Hudson, Bianca Kajlich as well as Megyn Price. The relationships in the show are a newly engaged couple as well as a long time married couple and David Spade as the single guy. The clips I have seen seems funny and it looks like a show that would be worth checking out. The show should do well as long as David Spade isn't carrying the comedy on his own; The reason why "How I Met Your Mother" is so good is because of a good ensemble cast and hopefully this show will have the same.
