"Jericho" Neighbor Problems Tonight

On "Jericho" tonight tensions heat up between the residents of Jericho and the neighboring town of New Bern. Several people are shot and injured when they try to steal salt from Jericho's salt mine. Nothing worse than salt free French fries (just kidding) but it looks like Jericho is heading for an all out conflict with its neighbors. This show is one of my favorites and, was to many a surprise hit but the ratings have dropped since it returned from its break. "Jericho" is a well written drama with some good acting and i hope it gets renewed for another season although at the moment it looks like its on the bubble.

TV On DVD: "Happy Days" Season Two

New this month on dvd is season two of the 1970's television hit "Happy Days." This classic show set in Milwaukee in the 1950's is good family entertainment. This is the season where the Fonz becomes a main character and helps Richie as he grows up. Also Richie's older brother Chuck who was in the first season is gone but you won't miss him. This set includes all 23 episodes of the second season on a 4 disc set.

"October Road" To Have Two New Regulars

The mid season drama "October Road" has promoted two recurring players on the show to fall time members of the cast beginning this fall. The two players are Lindy Booth who plays "Pizza Girl" and Rebecca Field who plays "Janet The Planet." This seems to be a good sign for this show and looks like the network has faith in the show which helps its chance of coming back after its season ends this Thursday on ABC.

Sanjaya Reads Top Ten List Last Night

Sanjaya Malakar the contestant on "American Idol" who was the most recent cast off from that show last night read the Top Ten List on the "Late Show With David Letterman." Sanjaya became famous for his less than stellar singing on "American Idol" but remained in the competition because he was a fan favorite and also had people like Howard Stern getting people to vote for him. The 17 year old from Seattle was popular for his goofy charm and right now he is making the most of his fame. On last nights "Late Show" Sanjaya read the a Top Ten List that was titled "Things I Learned From American Idol." Here are three of the funnier items from the list;

>The camera adds ten pounds to your hair
>Voting for yourself 100 times an hour causes some wicked carpal tunnel
>America loves performers with bad hair - right, Dave?

TV ON DVD: WKRP Season One Released Today

This dvd set includes all the episodes of the first season including the classic "Turkey Drop" episode. This show is a classic television comedy and im glad its finally available on dvd.

"The Real Wedding Crashers" Premieres Tonight

A new hidden camera reality show premieres tonight on NBC at 10pm. The show is called "The Real Wedding Crashers" and was inspired by the movie "Wedding Crashers." In this show improv actors will go undercover and pose as things like wedding planners, waiters, guests or even long lost friends in an effort to pull off pranks on the unsuspecting party goers with the bride and groom the only ones let in on the pranks. If this sounds like an episode of MTV's "Punk'd" that maybe because the show is produced by Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg the producers of that show. Why would a couple sign up for this i have no idea, even if the producers pay for the wedding but it should be interesting to watch.
>>Tonight at 10pm on NBC

Has "American Idol" Lost Its Edge?

First of all i must say i enjoy "American Idol" and have watched it over many seasons but this year seems a little lackluster. Even ignoring the fact that Sanjaya shouldn't have been in the finals and, having to watch him every week. At least Sanjaya made the show interesting in recent weeks the performances have been dull and uninspired to say the least. The Latin Week as well as the week with Tony Bennett were probably the two worse weeks as far as performances went. I have read that it is being said that the talent pool of really amazing singers is drying up for the long running show but i don't think that is the case. On the show this year you have three really good female singers although a lot of the time their performances seem safe and not that exciting. Taylor Hicks last seasons winner didn't have a voice that blew you away but he put in solid performances which were entertaining to watch. I hope that now we are down to the last few contestants they can step it up and make there performances more exciting otherwise we will have a dull finale.

Two Dance "Dancing With The Stars" Tonight

>>Tonight at 9pm on NBC

Sanjaya On Tonights "Late Show"

Sanjaya Malakar the controversial contestant who was the most recent one eliminated on "American Idol" makes a guest appearance on the "Late Show With David Letterman" tonight. Sanjaya who had a popular following on the show even though his singing talent was less than stellar will present the Top Ten List. Sanjaya made it all the way until the top seven finalists with not great singing but helped by people such as Howard Stern and several websites that pushed people to vote for him anyway. In the end he has properly got more exposure by not being the greatest singer and his appearance tonight on the "Late Show" i'm sure will help him.

REVIEW: "Ready, Set, Change!"

Home makeover shows can be found across the cable television dial especially on channels such the Home and Garden TV; This home makeover show called "Ready, Set, Change!"is actually on the TV Guide Channel which seems a strange place for it until you realize that the makeovers are television related. Show host Rosanna Tavarez first meets with a family who wants two of their rooms made over like sets of their favorite television shows. The family then leaves so a designer with carpenters and crew can begin the makeover process. Rosanna Taverez often helps out and you also get the see the problems that crop up in the makeover process. After everything is completed Rosanna Taverez shows the family the completed rooms which are made over in what theme they requested whether thats "Cheers" Or "Boston Legal " or whatever they picked. If you like makeover shows you will enjoy this one which is a different take on the idea. This show is on at various times on the TV Guide Channel especially on weekends so check local listing for times. Click on the title of this story to be taken to the show website.

"Total Request Live" Is Now Taped Not Live

"Total Request Live" or "TRL" as it is often called on MTV is now not live all the time and taped. The show for many years was a huge ratings success with Carson Daly as the host. "TRL" filmed at its Time Square studios was a must see show for many teens and a place where all the biggest names in pop music would stop to be interview and perform. Carson Daly left the show in 2003 and I don't think the show ever recovered. The ratings have fallen steadily since then and online music and videos have fragmented the audience for the show. Recently MTV has announced cut backs worldwide and it seems by going to a taped format instead of live is another cost cutting move. According to MTV they will have live shows on Monday and Wednesday and then right after tape a show for the following day. MTV have said they are not changing the name of the show on days they are recorded instead of live. I cannot blame MTV for doing this because shows such as "The Tonight Show" and "Late Night With David Letterman" are taped at 5pm in the afternoon for broadcast later and nobody minds. If "TRL" got the same ratings that they got when Carson Daly was the host they wouldn't be doing this. Right now the MTV VJ's rotate hosting the show.

"Amazing Race All Stars" Without Rob & Amber

Last weeks episode of the "Amazing Race All Stars" was as the previews hinted a shocker as Rob and Amber were eliminated. Rob and Amber had come in first every week and were most peoples including my favorite to win. Love them or hate them Rob and Amber made the show interesting so it will be interesting to see how the show will change without them. Still on the show is Mirna who is so annoying like nails on a blackboard and I look forward to seeing her eliminated. Of the remaining teams the beauty queens are my favorite although they haven't looked as strong as in the past. The preview clip shown after last weeks episode shows huge rats involved in this weeks episode which should be fun. >>CBS tonight at 8pm

"America Idol" Another Contestant Voted Off

On last nights "American Idol" another contestant left after receiving the fewest votes. Brandon Rogers left after forgetting his words on his performance on Tuesday nights broadcast. Brandon Rogers forgot the words to the Motown classic "You Can't Hurry Love." One of the judges Simon Cowell wasn't a fan of Brandon and said he lacked charisma and i agree because his performances were unexciting. Diana Ross coached the performers this week and last week she appeared on the show and sang "More Today Than Yesterday," off her new CD. I would have preferred than she sang one of her classic songs but oh well.

Ricki Lake Stars In New Comedy Pilot

Ricki Lake the former talk show host is starring in a new comedy pilot for ABC called "The Middle." The show concerns a lower middle class family in the Midwest and their extended family. It will be interesting to see how this show develops and it it makes it on air.

The Court TV name is to disappear by the start of next year and be replaced by a new name that will be announced this summer. "Amazing Race All Stars" Shock Result

Last nights "Amazing Race All Stars" had a shocking ending as Rob and Amber came in last place at the pit stop and were eliminated. "Debbie Does Dallas" Reality Show

The adult movie industry in lots of ways has become more mainstream and one example of that is the "Debbie Does Dallas" reality series now on Showtime. The program is a seven part reality series that goes behind the scenes of an actual adult movie as it is made, in this case the movie is called "Debbie Does Dallas...Again." This movie plays off the tittle of the 1978 classic movie "Debbie Does Dallas" which stared Bambi Woods. The show produced by Vivid Entertainment promises to show all aspects involved in making the movie from over 300 hours of tape that was shot. Its interesting a show like this is on Showtime rather than Playboy TV or the internet but if it peeks your interest check it out. >>Showtime Fridays at 11pm

The question is also will Rob and Amber continue to dominate as they have so far in the competition.

REVIEW: "Robin Hood" On BBC America

Over the years the legend of Robin Hood has been told many times in British television shows as well as Hollywood movies. The outlaw who steals from the rich to give to the poor has been shown in classic movies staring Douglas Fairbanks and Errol Flynn in Hollywood's Golden Age. More recently Hollywood has made movies about Robin Hood such as the hilarious spoof "Men In Tights" and "Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves" starring Kevin Costner which was a good movie other than Kevin Costner's accent kept changing though out the movie. Television over the years has had several Robin Hood based series over the years including the British ITV production which was shown in the USA on Showtime. This brings us to the current BBC version being shown on BBC America which is simply called "Robin Hood." This lavish production is slick and well acted with impressive action scenes. The leading role of Robin Hood is played by someone i hadn't seen before Jonas Armstrong. He is not your typical Hollywood action star and when you first see him you maybe a bit surprised that he is playing Robin Hood but after you watch for a bit you can see why he is. Jonas Armstrong has a strong screen presence and the way he plays the role is very believable. Robin travels with his former servant Much who is often the comic relief in situations. Marian is of course played by a beautiful woman in this case Lucy Griffiths but this Marian is spirited and independent and a very modern women even though this is a period piece. The Sheriff played well by Keith Allen is ruthless with warped humor a bit like Alan Rickman in "Prince Of Thieves." The final main character is Sir Guy Of Gisborne played by Richard Armitage who is vain and ambitious and someday hopes Marian fall for him. In closing the action sequences are well done and fast paced and for the most part very realistic. The sets and acting are top rate with good performances from whole cast. The scripts are well written and include humor without messing up the believability of the show. If you like action shows I suggest you check this one out its a fun ride to watch. >>BBC AMERICA at 8pm on Saturdays

"America's Got Talent" Gets New Host

When "America's Got Talent" returns this summer it will have a new host at the helm, Regis Philbin is out and Jerry Springer is in as host. The announcement that Regis Philbin was stepping down was made yesterday. Regis said in a prepared statement that the traveling back and forth between his syndicated talk show in New York and "America's Got Talent" in Los Angeles was the reason he stepped down. This makes sense as Regis Philbin is not a young man and the traveling must have been tough on him. As of right now the judges from the 2006 edition David Hasselhoff, Piers Morgan and Brandy are to return.

"Amazing Race All Stars" Last Nights Show

On last nights episode of "Amazing Race All Stars" Rob and Amber came in first again for the third straight week. From the start the two of them were my favorite to win as well as many other peoples picks too. Is Pamela Anderson Heading To The Beach?

Several places are reporting that blond bombshell Pamela Anderson has signed on for a new beach themed television drama. I haven't seen a news release about it but the show is said to be centered around a Malibu club. Pamela Anderson who became famous for her role as CJ Parker on "Baywatch" is daring to return to the beach at the age of 39 as well as a mother of two kids. The last project for Pamela was the FOX comedy "Stacked" about a glamor model working in a book shop and it did not succeed. Filing on the new show is set to begin soon according to various sources.
